Slapshot Web Demonstrator

Slapshot Web is currently available as a demonstration prototype that works with Android devices for capturing prints and emailing them to a designated receiver.

Matching of real-time “probe fingerprint images” against previously enrolled “reference fingerprint images” is used to verify a person's identity — usually to authorize or memorialize a transaction.
Slapshot Web is a convenient means to use touchless fingerprinting for fingerprint collection and identity verification. Individual phones can log into a website via links provided to access a web app. The web app provides a simple set-up to designate which phone camera to use to collect the contactless image and where to send the resulting analysis.
How a capture works
Each time a 3-finger slap image is collected through the web app, the full slap image is sent along with the three rendered individual fingerprint images and a quality score — emailed to the specified recipient.
The three rendered images are representative of what can be expected to be sent to a matcher. The quality score ranges from 0 to 100. Scores above 80 indicate the image will reliably match its reference in a conventional minutia-based ABIS matcher; lower scores are a reliable indicator that the collected probe will have difficulty in a 1:1 verification match.
